Zelle® Scams

Things to consider EVERY TIME using Zelle®.

  1. CONFIRM the product/service that you are purchasing and confirm the price of said product/service prior to sending or receiving payment.
  2. CONFIRM that information is correct between the two parties conducting a transaction. You must have the full name and phone number or email (connected to their bank/Zelle account) to send money using Zelle.
  3. BE AWARE of scams through special “promotions.” Deals that look too good to be true, likely are so it’s important to do your due diligence prior to sending anyone money. It might be a scam if someone is insisting you could only pay through Zelle or is pressuring you into making an immediate payment.
  4. As a Sender, INFORM the recipient when you send money, and request that they confirm that your payment has been received.
  5. As a Recipient, CONFRIM with the sender that you have received the payment to avoid confusion and double charges.
  6. As a Buyer, always confirm after sending your payment. To ensure that the seller received the money.
  7. As a Seller, always confirm with purchasing party immediately after receiving payment to ensure the transaction properly processed.

BEWARE: Bank impersonators. USPS FCU or Zelle® will not contact you about anything regarding Zelle® unless a payment has been recently sent or received.
