Become a Member of the Board of Directors

Nominations for a seat on the Credit Union's Board of Directors open annually in December.

Board members represent the interests of over 28,000 USPS FCU members by ensuring the Credit Union meets our members' financial needs and service expectations.

ELIGIBILITY IS SIMPLE

Candidates must meet the minimum age requirement of 18 years as of the election date and be a member in good standing, defined as follows:

  • $10 minimum balance in savings.
  • No delinquent loans.
  • Has never caused a loss to the Credit Union.

TIME COMMITMENT WILL NOT INTERFERE WITH YOUR BUSY SCHEDULE

Members of the Board of Directors are elected to two-year terms. If elected, candidates should be prepared to attend monthly board and periodic committee meetings. Board meetings are held virtually on the last Wednesday of each month at 4:15 p.m. and last approximately two hours.

OPPORTUNITY TO CONTRIBUTE

Board Members help the Credit Union develop long-range strategic plans. Board members also review policies and procedures and oversee the operation and financial performance of the Credit Union.

YOUR VOICE IS NEEDED

As a Board Member, you will have a vital role in shaping the Credit Union’s direction and strategy. You will speak on behalf of thousands of members who rely on the Credit Union to offer the best products and services for their financial goals and needs.

Interested applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will have their names placed on the ballot for election at the Annual Meeting.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Ability to attend and actively participate in monthly board meetings.
  • Ability to understand and analyze financial statements.
  • Experience using a variety of USPS FCU products and services.
