Save Money at Amusement Parks With These 5 Tips

August 16, 2019

Visting an amusement park is an enjoyable time for a family, but it can also be an expensive one. Admission for parks can cost a family of four more than $250, and adding food and other items can make it a more costly experience. Whether you are heading to a park today or are planning to attend one in the future, here are five tips to save money at amusement parks.

Purchase Tickets in Advance

Purchasing your tickets in advance is a great way to save not only money, but time. Many amusement parks offer online tickets that are often cheaper than the price at the park’s gate. Some parks even offer bundle packages for families of four or more.

Look for Promotions

You can often find deals on amusement park tickets online on sites like Groupon or RetailMeNot. Discounts can also be found on soda cans, so make sure you look before getting rid of them.

Consider Season Passes

If your family are frequent visitors of a specific amusement park, you may want to consider getting a season pass. Season passes can include benefits such as discounts on food, exclusive ride times, and discounts on extra tickets.

Try to Avoid Souvenirs

Souvenirs are pretty much everywhere in amusement parks. Don’t fall into the temptation of purchasing that eye-catching t-shirt or stuffed animal. You can often find some of the same items at stores outside of the park for lower prices.

Go Later in the Day

You can save money on admission by visiting the amusement park later in the day. Some amusement parks offer discounted tickets after certain times such as 5:00 PM. You could also save money by visiting during the week, versus the weekend.
