USPS FCU Board Announces New Acting CEO

Dear USPS FCU Members,

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to inform you that William Yarborough has decided to retire from his position as CEO of the U.S. Postal Service Federal Credit Union. Will has given us thirty-four years of tireless leadership. We on the Board of Directors thank Will for his service and wish him well in his future endeavors.

Since Will stepped into the role of CEO in 1991, he has been a champion of our core mission; helping members to grow their wealth and thus, to have an opportunity to achieve financial security.  In other words, to help our members become more than what they are in terms of financial management, not keep them where they are; to uplift all our members and put them in control of their hard-earned money. To that end, Will has worked with executive staff, personnel, vendors, and members to champion member education. Will’s leadership in this area has put the Credit Union on a strong trajectory to significantly improve member access and financial success. The board is committed to continuing that trajectory.

Under Will’s guidance, the Credit Union has also adopted new technologies, policies, and tactics that have helped it grow from approximately $68,000,000 in assets to $270,000,000. He did all of this while leading the Credit Union through several difficult economic crises, including the market crash of 2007.

Our mission hasn’t changed—and won’t change with the coming leadership transition. We are indebted to Will for greatly improving our ability to achieve our mission and in bringing about a significant evolution in the way the Credit Union accomplishes its work. We are fortunate to have worked alongside a leader with his passion.

Steve Cimino, EVP, will step in as Acting CEO, and we know you will throw all your support and efforts behind his, and the Credit Union's, future success.

Please join the Board in wishing Will well and thank you, on behalf of all of the Directors, for your continued support of the U. S. Postal Service Federal Credit Union.

Sincerely,

John Rosato

Chairman of the Board of Directors
