On December 30, 2020, the U.S. Department of Treasury's Bureau of the Fiscal Service (Fiscal Service) began processing Economic Impact Payments (EIPs) as authorized by the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021. These payments are delivered by either direct deposit, physical checks, or prepaid Economic Impact Payment (EIP) debit cards. You can check the status of your payment and how it's being delivered here. If your payment is being mailed, watch your mail for a paper check or debit card. EIP debit cards are being sent in a white envelope, so make sure that you don't throw them away. The form of payment for your second mailed EIP may be different from your first mailed EIP received in 2020. Some people who received a paper check the first time may receive a prepaid debit card, some who received a debit card the first time may receive a prepaid check.
