VISA Credit Card Updates

On Sunday, April 10, 2022 the Credit Union converted to a new Visa processing system to provide better options and an overall improved member experience. The following are some important changes you need to be aware of:

By now you should have received your new account number and your newly designed contactless VISA Credit Card that was mailed to you in late March 2022. This new card can be activated immediately. If you have not received your new card, or are experiencing issues activating your new card, please contact the Credit Union at 866-606-2518 for assistance.

Your previous Visa Platinum or Visa Platinum Rewards Card was deactivated at 11:59 PM on April 9, 2022. Please read the below information for important information about online account set-up, automatic payments, and additional details.

What's Next?

You will need to register for the new online VISA system. If you have any issues with enrolling in the new system, you will need to contact the Credit Union to update any personal information that may be incorrect.

The new system will give you access to:

  • Check your balances and make payments
  • Transfer balances from your other Credit Cards to your USPS FCU VISA Card
  • Check your new Rewards points balances and redeem your points for cash, merchandise, travel, gift cards, etc., if you have our Rewards card
  • Report your card lost or stolen, and have a new card ordered for you
  • And much more…

IMPORTANT information about scheduled and recurring payments:

To setup and view automatic payments visit the new online VISA system and register your new credit card number. Once you have logged in for the first time and created a username and password you will need to choose the payments option from the account home page. You can either make one-time payments or set up automatic payments with your checking account at your financial institution. If you have a monthly automatic payment setup in the current system that the Credit Union set up for you, that information will be transferred over to the new system. If you set up automatic payments yourself on the previous system, you will need to update your payment information immediately to avoid payment interruption.

When adding or updating your payment account online, we will verify your account information. You will not be able to submit a payment for 5 calendar days during this verification process. Once your account has been verified, you will be able to log into make a payment. If you need to make a payment by phone before the 5 day waiting period, call 866-606-2518. 

For all VISA Platinum Rewards cardholders – what you need to know:

You will continue to earn points just like before the new Rewards program offers the same great benefits you have today. VISA Platinum Rewards points earned after March 31, 2022, along with existing points will be available for viewing and redemption on your next cycle date following the conversion on April 10, 2022.

For cardholders that have closed their accounts but are still making payments – please note the following:

You will receive your new VISA account number on your monthly statement after the conversion of the VISA system on April 10, 2022. Your new VISA account number can be found on the bottom of the payment stub beginning with 490488 followed by the next 10 digits. You will need to update your new account number for any automatic payments you currently have set up with your bill payment service.

Will my credit card's features and benefits change?

No, all features and benefits will remain unchanged. Plus, we are adding the new contactless payment feature mentioned above.

Will my credit card rate change?

No, your current rate will remain the same.

Will my payment date or the payment mailing address change?

Your payment date will remain the same. The mailing address will change to:

Is there another way to make a payment on my account?

Yes, you can call the number on the back of your card to speak with a live agent. Please note there is a $5 fee to make a payment by phone. FYI, you will be able to make payments through an automated phone system for free in the near future.

When can I access the new rewards program to view and redeem my points?

Points earned after March 31, 2022, along with existing points will be available for viewing and redemption on your next cycle date following the conversion on April 10, 2022. Your points will not show in CURewards until your account cycles, so don't be alarmed if you see 0 points showing in the new system if it's prior to your next cycle date.

Do I need to update my new card with merchants or other companies that I have automatic payments set up with?

Yes, you will need to provide them with your new card information, once you receive your card.
